Marian Wachter is an experienced user interface and visual designer whose work reflects her commitment to achieving the right balance between design and function. She believes it is possible to have beautiful design that puts the user first and is informative and easy to use.
Marian works for Amazon on the Student team as a UX designer. She is currently working on a redesign of the major user flows of the Amazon Student pages.
Before Amazon, Marian worked at HTC creating visually rich web pages showcasing the company's world class smart phones. She's also collaborated with software engineers and marketing teams to create visually-compelling content and applications for the Web, the iPhone, and the iPad for a startup.
Previously, she worked in print design as a consultant to Microsoft, and was art director of The Seattle Times, where she directed a staff of 13 artists and oversaw a redesign of the newspaper.
In her spare time, Marian is a fine art printmaker, and enjoys hiking and biking.
