Marian Wachter has a long and distinguished career in the design field. Her16 years at the Seattle Times began as a designer of feature pages, and the Sunday Pacific Northwest Magazine. She became art director of the entire newspaper,managing 15 artists, and ultimately was responsible for a complete redesign of the paper. In her years in newspaper design, she collected scores of awards from the Society of News Design and continues to be recognized as one of the best in the field.

Marian has now started her own company, Marian Wachter Design. The goal is to provide the finest quality design available.  Marian Wachter Design specializes in design and imagery for the web. They create web sites directly for clients from start to finish, but also work with other professionals who wish to make their clients' sites look better, and communicate more clearly.

Print design is the other area of expertise. A particular strength is in the area of editorial and catalog design. While striving to make printed materials beautiful and easy to read, Marian Wachter prides herself in attention to detail. She is keenly aware of the importance of the written word, designing typography to best communicate the message and employing a copy editor to ensure accuracy.
